Not again!

This is the third time I have moved in less than a year.  And yet, all the moving has brought me to my new apartment that looks out on trees and sky. Right now I am sitting on my porch as a slight breeze wafts through. It’s just the process that is daunting. Sorting through stuff! What to keep; what to release. What feels good now? But that trinket reminds me of my trip to Egypt. That was when I was in college. I hardly remember that trip. Pictures of me on a camel! Bits and pieces. Part of my journey. But I feel like a different person now. The same in many ways, yet different. Does the memory of that trip support this moment? Not so much. What will I do with that trinket? Put it on shelf? Store it in a box? Would I revisit it for reasons that help me move forward now? Probably not. Perhaps it would bless someone else on their journey. Moving requires sorting—again!  Not my favorite activity. But isn’t that a way of keeping the journey fresh and relevant? What thoughts support my current Life journey? Which ones keep me cycling in old stuff? What emotions tie me to past experiences that I have already processed? Here I am in this place of trees and natural beauty. Am I going to stay in the past or be in this moment of tranquility and peace? Every day we have the choice. Will I stay tied to the past or will I be present now? I have just been listening to Narayan and Janet’s CD...

What is Your Mastery Work?

Sometimes key moments come to us as messages from a Higher Source. They can often come through what others say. I just got off the phone with my friend Jean.  She is 90 years old, with a body that is having a number of challenges. Her doctor and kids decided she should stop driving as she was recovering from a broken hip and didn’t have the strength in her legs that she used to have. She feels she has lost her freedom. I suggested that she is in a time of mastery work. One way I define that is to be clear about your situation, use the tools you have to move forward, and find a way to discover more about what it means to be the highest and best in this new experience.  Mastery work is usually challenging.  It stretches us to places we didn’t know we could go. As we discussed how she could creatively deal with life without her own transportation, she said “I always try to be the part of the solution, not the problem.”  The truth is that she isn’t just trying, she’s doing that. And in the process of living her life in that way she is inspiring me and so many around her. As we ended our conversation, I silently asked supportive color frequencies to come to her as she lives her mastery work. I also created a deep intention to connect with her more often both energetically (wishing her well, asking the colors to support her, and connecting with her heart to heart) and by spending time with her. This is...

Imagine there’s No Cellphone

I found Peggy’s blog article a great way to reflect on modern culture.  How do we make choices about how we use our energy and time?  If we don’t stay conscious, we can allow the outside world to take the driver’s seat. Peggy is a close friend and mentor.  I always find what she shares to be insightful and helpful. Arlene Arnold www.ThePowerofColor.com Imagine there’s No Cellphone – Peggy Smith I just had the strangest time traveler moment.  I was futzing about doing daily stuff; cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, changing sheets, doing laundry and general life maintenance when I realized I didn’t know where my cell phone was.  It had been over an hour since anyone had called, texted or nudged me and then panic set in.  Did I drop it in the washer on the last load?  OMG! At that moment it was as though I walked through a secret door or fell in a rabbit hole because I found myself sitting down at the top of the stairway in a timeless drift. I was remembering that once upon a time in my life there were no cell phones, laptops, iPads, or streaming videos.  Yep, I’m that old.  It didn’t seem to matter any longer if I found my cell phone or not.  I heard a familiar melody running through my head and the voice of John Lennon singing, Imagine there’s no cellphone, Imagine if you can There is no IMS or keypad at hand Imagine all the people living without a tweet No chat or Facebook; we can only speak Sure we have the T.V. and land-line telephones But when you’re traveling,...

Compliments Raise Our Vibration

I watched a video (link below) that really caught my interest this morning.  It steered me in a helpful direction. In this video Matt Kahn encourages us to leave behind what we think is our truth and move into becoming “goodness.”  He claims that giving compliments to yourself and others allows us to move into the heart and become the goodness we are.  This raises our vibration and consequently radiates that goodness. When you are in a conversation with someone who is very negative, giving them a compliment is the farthest thing from our natural response.  But, feel the energy of this kind of response.   “I can see how passionate you are about that!” “How deeply you feel for the pain in the world.” “I can feel how much you want life to be different.” “You are so observant!” Can you feel the shift in the energy?  You are not saying they are wrong to feel that way.  You are saying there is something wonderful about them.  They matter and you care that they matter. If they persist in going back to the negative, then find something else to compliment them on.  According to Kahn it sometimes take 3 times for the energy to shift. This is a spiritual practice.  This will help us as much as the other person because we will be leaving behind judgment of where they are coming from.  According to Kahn the person’s negativity can be the soul’s attempt to break through old patterns.  Your compliment may be part of that break-through. Then, there is the more challenging part of giving ourselves compliments....

Sorting, Releasing & Organizing

My apartment is strewn with boxes: > Tax information I am shredding > Slides I am sorting > Old journals I am going through to find the bits I want to save and reorganize. I am gratefully letting go of anything that no longer feels relevant. Have you felt the need to sort, release, and organize?  This is a great time to do that before you head into a new moon.  Clearing the energy around you, and in you, leaves room for new intentions to come into this present moment. Simply Self, from the Luminaries Set, supports us in this process. Simplify! Simplify! Simplify! Make room for clarity of thinking and feeling, which allows pearls of wisdom to emerge from deep within.  As we sort, release and organize, we simplify life.  The energy around us grows lighter, more flowing.  This leaves us open to receive what is next. What are you hanging onto that keeps the energy around you stagnant? What if you let go of anything that no longer feels relevant? What might then be allowed to flow into your life? Please share your thoughts!  We learn so much from how each of us sorts, releases, and organizes.   Blessings, Arlene Arnold www.ThePowerofColor.com                ...

Experiencing Attunement

Has 2014 been full of opportunities to see how much you are growing?  Think about the many challenges that came up this year.  Did you dismiss them as disrupting your life, or did you recognize them as opportunities to release what you no longer need?  This release is the next step toward being right here right now, not in some past situation or future fearful possibility. Staying present in the moment means noticing what comes up, meeting it without resistance, appreciating what it has brought, and choosing a different way to be.  This is the essence of a new attunement that is becoming part of our experience. In the Luminaries (A Prism of Change through Reflection and Transformational Art) ‘Attunement’ brings us important messages. “Step into the matrix of transmutation.  With gratitude for both the harmony and disharmony of life, allow what is finished to dissolve.  Embrace what is!  Celebrate the realignment and reconfiguration of your core.”      This realignment comes through experiences that shift us from our toes to the tingling hair on the top of our heads and out into our energy field around us.  We are becoming New Humans: Conscious Beings, in form, who live as participant observers who choose polarity instead of duality.  I know, that’s a mouthful. Simply put, we don’t step into the fray. Instead, we participate in life as a knowing observer who sees both sides of life (harmony and disharmony) and only acts from an inner prompting of the heart.  From this vantage point we see how courageous we are sometimes and how easily we fall back into old patterns that...
