Unfolding

“There is so much more within your crystalline core than you yet know. It is time for your unfolding. One step at a time is all it takes.”         Unfolding, a card from the Luminaries Deck, encourages us to go deeper. There is more that is unfolding from within our core. When I visualize the process of unfolding, I see a bed sheet carefully folded and stored in a closet. One day you are led to bring this sheet out. Carefully, you unfold it. There are creases in it from having sat in that closet for so long. You smooth out the creases, feeling the soothing touch of closely woven cotton. You had almost forgotten that this sheet was in your closet. You smell it’s fresh scent. You touch it to your cheek. You know that it is familiar even though you have not taken it out for so long. “There is so much more with your crystalline core. . .” What else might be in that closet? What other precious attributes have you set aside? It may seem strange to focus on unfolding at a time when there is so much uncertainty. But that’s the point. We are being led to take one step into a new way of being. The uncertainty has removed our solid footing that was firmly placed in patterns of life that were familiar. What better time to step forward, even gingerly, to create a new platform from which to live! Unfolding goes on to encourage us: “At the right time and in the right place, as you connect with...

Clarity and Courage

What does clarity look like to you? Does it mean you have a clear life path–a sense of what you are here in this life for. Or perhaps clarity means you see who you are, not from another’s perspective, but from getting real with yourself. And sometimes that comes because you have said, “No, that’s not who I am.” Clarity can also mean that you have cleared away old messages about life, it’s meaning, your obligations to others, and all the many “should’s” that were heaped on you. This can leave you with a clean slate–a place to start that doesn’t have all the puzzle pieces of life already assembled for you. Then, you can fill that slate with what seems real to you; what makes you happy; what stokes your passion without expecting others to have the same things on their slate. In other words, you don’t have to compare yourself to others or to measure up to some imaginary yardstick that says, “Be this, do that, think this so you will be acceptable.” That’s where courage comes in. With nobody else’s parameters defining you, this new kind of freedom can be daunting.  “What if I leave behind something that is important? What if I am just kidding myself? Can I be this capable, this able to navigate my own life?” “Will I lose family and friends because I am not conforming? Will I have those in my life who are willing to listen to me and want to share ideas without telling me what’s right and wrong?” The color Yellow, along with Purple, give us tools for clarity...

Staying Open-Hearted in Crazy-making Times

What Does This Have to Do with the Holiday Spirit? This morning I watched pictures of the city of Aleppo and heard stories of unimaginable cruelty. Last night I enjoyed a special time with family, giving and receiving gifts, putting together a puzzle, watching dog antics, and laughing. In a time of such tragedy and uncertainty, how do we stay open-hearted without dropping deep into the despair so many feel? And what does this have to do with the holiday spirit? My answers always come back to the spiritual journey. When someone close to us dies, we feel the loss. We mourn. Yet, in the midst of the very real pain of mourning, we turn for comfort to family, nature, and the enduring human spirit that, at its best, is rooted in love. During our mourning there are– times of tears and times of laughter; times of regret and times of celebration; times of wanting to leave this world and times of determination to make every moment count. This is also true when the human spirit loses its way. We mourn then as well. What we are experiencing now in the world and in our country may feel like the deep loss of love. Yet, if we become that loss, we add to the depressive spirit that forgets there is also hope. Living in this dichotomy of grief and celebration can feel crazy-making.  We may feel that celebrating is unreal in the midst of that which wrenches the heart. We see and experience so much that shows us a heartless humanity. We may blame, gnash our teeth, feel like victims....

Balance Your Colors through Coloring

Have you joined the coloring book craze? Or do you think coloring is just a pastime– something to do when you’re bored or need a timeout?    Our mandala coloring book is different. You color with a pair of color complements in all their stunning hues.  Red/Green Orange/Blue      Yellow/Purple   And then you can color with the rainbow of all three pairs. Along the way, you create your own mandalas (no art talent required). This coloring book offers a simple way to  increase your energy, bring out your creativity, sooth your emotions, and bring balance to your life.  Using  complementary colors will give you new insights to shift your energy and transform your life. The difference is in the balance of the complements. The warm colors (Red, Orange & Yellow) paired with the cool colors (Green, Blue, and Purple)  create a Tao of Coloring. The warm colors open the flow in your human understanding and the cool colors highlight your deeper understanding.  Together they remind you that you are more than human and, at the same time, being human is important. Here’s how I used this coloring strategy to balance my colors: Earlier this month I had myself tightly scheduled between workshops, presentations, and a holistic fair. Early on a Saturday morning, while it was still dark, I was carrying the last box of products to my car. Instead of calling my daughter next door to turn on the light, I started down the porch steps in the dark. Next thing I knew I was tumbling down the stairs. A neighbor, out with his dog, heard my startled...

Emanate Your Magnificence!

You may feel them as body aches and pains, feeling low, noticing that odd thoughts surface, or that you just don’t trust your deeper self. You are not alone. Many are experiencing this. Allow yourself to notice what surfaces without becoming it. Feel the emotions. Notice the thoughts. Be aware of the part of you that doesn’t trust. As you give attention to them, without taking on these emotions and beliefs, there is a healing that can take place. Call in the colors to help. You don’t have to know which ones.  Just allow the appropriate frequency of color to appear in your mind’s eye. Wrap it around you. When you are ready, go deep to find your inner light. Celebrate your magnificence. Notice how this also allows you to celebrate the courage of your human self who is willing to embrace your inner truth without minimizing its part in this incarnation. As your human/divine magnificence, you become more aware of your soul in human form. This is the power of Love right here, right now.   The Luminary called “Love” says:    When humanity acts from fear, Love disappears  It is as if a veil is placed    between humans and that which most deeply connects them to Love.    Survival becomes the main focus. That can change. Love has never    left. Humans often fear being abandoned, but Love, with all its attributes, waits in the wings ready to be acknowledged.  Remember that you were           birthed from Love; therefore, you are a rainbow energy imprint of Love.   The Luminary called “Illumination”...

Do You Move in the Rhythm of Guidance?

Have you ever noticed how you can peacefully move with inner guidance until you get stressed? Stress tightens the body and seems to squeeze out that inner voice that is our compass. We forget to breathe.  Our pace gets faster (or slower if fear takes over) and we feel out of sync. This leaves room for another voice to bubble up that says things like: I don’t know how to do this I don’t know where to begin This is too hard I’m not good at this How do you stop that voice of doubt? This is the point at which simple tools help because just remembering you have tools is not easy when doubt has taken over. You might want to put these steps on a sticky note someplace where you will notice them easily. Stop whatever you are doing Breathe  Ground (Think of something in nature or go outside) If there were a color that could sync you with your inner guidance right now, what color would it be?  First one that comes to mind. Breathe in that color. When you are ready, take one step, in sync with your inner guidance, that will move you forward. The more often we recognize when we have moved into a stress mode, the faster our energy can shift. And oh how much better it feels to flow in sync with inner guidance! Find out more about moving in the rhythm of guidance with Leslie Romine and me on The Power of Color Radio Show tomorrow (October 28th) at 3:30 Pacific/6:30 Eastern. Blessings, Arlene...
